The Problem
India is facing a severe mental health crisis. Of the 1 billion people worldwide living with mental health conditions, India alone accounts for nearly one-third of the global burden of depressive disorders. Despite having the world’s youngest population, more than 100 million children and youth in the country are diagnosed with mental health issues. Yet, because of limited awareness, stigma, and inadequate access to quality care, many individuals who are struggling never receive the support or treatment they need to heal.
